A faerie garden is a very good way to reach out to the faerie folk. Faeries love various plants and if you plant them
you will invite faeries to frolic in your garden. Below is a list of faerie plants that you may use to attract and see them.
In your garden you should also leave an untamed area to represent the lush of nature.
Blue Bells- These bell-like flowers are said to be one of the faerie's most cherished flowers. Plant these in your
garden and it will invite faeries to dance in your garden. Beware of Blue Bell fields. These are said to be intricately woven
with fae enchantments and spells. If you hear a Blue Bell ring, then it means a malevolent faerie is near or it means you
will soon die.

Foxglove- *POISIONOUS* The name is derived from "folk's glove" or "little folk's glove".
The faeries used these plants as gloves and little hats. Protect your home and bring faerie luck by planting Foxglove.

Primroses- These magical flowers make the invisible visible. Eating them allows you to see
faeries. Touch a faerie rock (a rock with a perfect hole in it from running water) with the correct number of primroses in
a posy (some say 13) and the gift of faerie-land will become clear. A wrong number means certain doom.

Elder- The Elder tree is the sacred tree to the fae. Never, under any circumstances, cut down or cause harm to an elder
tree. Don't place a baby in an Elder crib of the faeries will 'pinch it black and blue'. Elder-berry wine is an extreme treat
for the faeries. It is said that if you drink the wine from the same goblet as a faerie did, then you will be able to
see it forever. Elder flowers are high in vitamin C and are exelent for teas to cure colds and relax.
(Elder Flowers)
Wild Thyme- Thyme is used in a special salve to see the faeries (recipe in other section). Beware if you use this
salve, don't tell the faeries if they aren't friendly. Stories have been told of when the faeries found of which eye you could
see them with, you suddenly went blind in that exact eye.

Cowslip- Said to hold the secrets of the faerie's invisibility. Cowslip helps lead you to the faerie gold. Look for
faeries around these flowers, near these the veil of the worlds are slightly thinner.
Primula veris (P. officinacis)
American Cowslip (Dodecatheon Meadia)
Hawthorn- These thorny bushes/trees were said to be witches in disguise, or the remains of a deceased witch. These
plants were used as evidence in a witch trial as proof that one was a witch, as were bluebells. If you sleep under a Hawthorne
on Halloween, it is an invitation for faeries to come and kidnap you. Faeries hold a greatlove for this tree of magick. It
is said that the tree spirit holds much of the magick in faerie-world. Used as protection against other harmful magick.

Oak- This great tree was held sacred to the celts and druids. Faeries live in hollowed oaks, making a faerie house
in an oak tree is a great way to attract them. Ever acorn is said to hold it's own faerie. Bringing an acorn into your home
is yet another good way to bring you closer to the faerie mysteries.

Redwood- The redwood tree is one of the oldest and largest of the tree spirits upon the planet. They are direct descendants
from the time known as "Lemuria". They are homes to wondrous faeries and elves who, in spite of their rarity, are not shy
about human contact. The redwood spirit can open great spiritual vision, and contact with them will bring extended growth
periods that will touch the soul on many levels. They can help clarify one's own personal vision of life.
